Privacy notice
What we collect when you write to us, why we hold it, where it sits and how to have it removed.
Effective 11 August 2026
01Who is responsible for your information
Aldermere Investor Group is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Our contact details are at the foot of every page, and questions about this notice reach a person rather than a queue.
If you would rather write to a named individual, ask for the partner handling your file and we will put you in touch.
02What we collect
We collect what you choose to send us through the enquiry form, and nothing else. Depending on which track you use, that is:
- your name, email address and telephone number
- the country you are writing from and your company name
- the sectors you selected, and what you wrote in the free-text fields
- the capital you are seeking, or the type of investor you are and the size of ticket you typically write
- any file you attach, such as a company profile or deck
Our web server keeps ordinary technical logs — the address a request came from, the page asked for and the time. These are used to keep the site up and to spot abuse.
03Why we hold it, and on what basis
We hold what you send us in order to answer you, to assess whether there is a basis for working together, and to carry out the checks described in our legal and compliance notice. That is our legitimate interest in responding to an approach you made, and where a relationship follows, the steps necessary to enter into a contract with you.
Where the law requires us to keep records of who we dealt with and what we checked, we rely on that legal obligation.
We do not use what you send us to build a profile, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
04Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies on visitors, runs no analytics and loads no scripts, fonts, images or video from anyone else. Nothing here reports your visit to a third party.
One cookie exists: a sign-in cookie issued to our own staff when they log in to the private area used to edit this site. A visitor never receives it.
05Who else sees it
Your enquiry is read by the partners and staff who need to act on it.
We use a hosting provider to run the server this site sits on, and that provider necessarily has access to the machine. We do not pass your enquiry to advisers, counterparties or anyone else in our network without telling you first and agreeing what may be shared.
We will disclose information where a court, regulator or law requires it.
06Where it is stored
Enquiries and any file you attach are stored on a server we control, located in Helsinki, Finland. Attachments are held outside the public part of the site and cannot be reached by guessing an address; they are readable only after signing in.
If you are writing from outside the EU or Switzerland, sending us an enquiry means your information will be transferred to and held in the EU.
07How long we keep it
If a conversation does not lead anywhere we keep your enquiry for up to twelve months, so that we recognise the context if you come back to us, and then delete it along with anything you attached.
Where we take a file forward, records are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and for the period afterwards that the applicable record-keeping rules require.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
08Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, or to stop using it in a particular way. You can also object to our use of it.
Write to the address at the foot of this page and tell us what you want done. We will answer within one month. We will ask a question or two first if we cannot tell from the request who is asking.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or to the supervisory authority where you live.
09How we protect it
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. The area used to manage the site sits behind a sign-in that locks out repeated wrong attempts, is not linked from anywhere on the public site, and issues a signed session that the server verifies on every request.
No system is beyond reach. If information about you were exposed and that were likely to put you at risk, we would tell you and the relevant authority.
10Changes to this notice
We update this notice when what we do changes. The effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading. If a change materially affects people who have already written to us, we will contact them rather than rely on the date alone.
Questions about any of this?
Write to us and say which notice you mean. A person reads it, not a mailbox.
