Legal & compliance
Who we are as a legal entity, what we are and are not authorised to do, and the checks every counterparty goes through.
Effective 11 August 2026
01Company details
Aldermere Investor Group is a privately held investor group with its registered office in Zürich, Switzerland. Our registered address, commercial register number and VAT number belong here once they are issued; the contact details at the foot of every page reach us in the meantime.
02What we are, and what we are not
We invest our own and our members’ capital, and we introduce businesses to counterparties and to funding. We are not a bank, we do not hold client money or assets, and we do not manage portfolios on behalf of the public.
Where an activity requires authorisation, it is carried out either by an entity that holds that authorisation or together with a regulated partner, and you will be told which before anything is signed.
03Checks before an introduction
Every counterparty is checked before we introduce them to anyone, and the same standard applies whether the file is worth five million or fifty.
- who owns the business, down to the individuals who ultimately control it
- where the money comes from, evidenced rather than asserted
- the licences and permits the business says it holds
- the people running it, and their record
If we cannot get comfortable, we say no and we say why. An introduction carries our name, which is the whole reason the checks exist.
04Sanctions and restricted parties
We screen counterparties, their owners and their controllers against the applicable Swiss, EU, UK and US sanctions lists before proceeding, and again when circumstances change.
We will not act for, introduce, or knowingly facilitate a transaction involving a sanctioned party, and we will withdraw from a live file if a listing appears.
05Conflicts of interest
We sometimes hold an interest in a business we introduce, or act for both sides of a conversation. Where that is the case we say so before the introduction, in writing, and either party may decline on that basis.
We keep a record of conflicts identified and how each was handled.
06Complaints
If we have got something wrong, write to us and set out what happened. We will acknowledge within five working days, tell you who is looking into it, and give you a substantive answer within thirty days or explain why we need longer.
If our answer does not settle it, you are free to take the matter to the courts named in our terms of use.
07Raising a concern
If you believe someone connected with us has acted improperly — dishonesty, a conflict left undeclared, pressure to overlook a check — tell us. Write to the address at the foot of this page and mark it for the attention of a partner.
We do not penalise anyone, inside or outside the group, for raising a concern honestly.
